starting in the fall of 1995, and introduced to the form of music from dj starscream aka dj sid wilson (now a member of Slipknot), he began his career with the mash up and ragga sounds of yesteryear, releasing mix tapes on a constant basis, and corrupting the minds of the midwest with the chaotic drum patters emerging from the records he dropped on the decks to the dancefloors people consumed. as the years progressed through various styles of drum n bass, so did kaoss - menacing towns across the midwest, the southern states, the east coast and a performance in vancouver, brittish columbia, as well as an interview with DJ Dara on the breakbeat science weekly webcast "Velocity" back in 1998.
he has performed on the same line ups with such djs as Dieselboy, Danny the Wildchild, Phantom 45, DJ Reality and MC Rage (Trouble On Vinyl/Renegade Hardware/True Playaz, UK), DJ Icey, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Rinse and MC Jamalski, Keoki, DJ Irene, DJ Eye-D (Piruh/Black Monolith/Mokum/Kultbox, Netherlands), Monk and DJ Enrie just to name a few. he continued to help out the midwest scene with the help of the NSMM, founded by dlux, t3mul3nt (OHM recordings) and himself in 1999. the NSMM have been responsible for omaha's first all hardcore/drum n bass event "Grillotron" in april of 1999 and also by bringing the first UK drum n bass tour through the area (Trouble On Vinyl "Mission Control" Tour with DJ Reality and MC Rage) , also in 1999.
2002 brought about his addition to sonic fury, a group of freeform hardcore/4 beat djs ran by dj spree and dj tilzs out of minneapolis - gaining more exposure and helping spread the word of the already infamous crew and also being approached by sickbay recordings - ran by dj critical and dj extract - originally out of california, now based in chicago and the midwest. since joining up with the sickbay crew, both extract and kaoss have been colaborating on large amounts of original material.
2003 showed that his rise to the top is still ongoing! having two residencies locally, gaining huge amounts of attention due to his recent production work, the success of his bi-weekly Frolic and newly launched Bassline bi-weekly, and also the birth of his record label Cymbalism Recordings with its worldwide distribution and huge roster of artists ranging from upcoming producers like Noise Machine and oS to established producers such as Greg Packer and Mason, the future is looking stronger and stronger.
with his nearly flawless mixing, upfront track selection including dubplates months in advance before they hit the store shelves and original production work - and with the lauch his own record label in 2003, this midwest talent is a media bomb about to explode.
